Join one of our foraging courses at Gartmore House and you will learn all about wildfoods in Scotland.
Tutor Andy has been foraging for nearly 15 years and has covered almost all the areas that Scotland has to offer in his hunt for Wildfoods.
What started as a mild curiosity grew to an obsessive hobby for Andy, learning as many types of herbs, wild plants, coastal plants and or course wild mushrooms as possible.
Although experienced, every forager classes themselves as an amateur as there is always so much more to learn. Andy focuses on the more easily identifiable wildfoods and those that stand out in terms of appearance or flavour giving you a great starting point should you then wish to go on and learn more.
What is included
- En-suite accomodation for 2 nights
- Half a day of foraging with expert guidance from Andy
- Full board – full Scottish breakfast, lunch and 3-course dinner
Arrive on Friday evening and enjoy a 3-course dinner in Gartmore House, which shall include a selection of wildfoods and a chat with Andy on foraging.
After breakfast on Saturday, you will head out with Andy to forage in the local area. Once you have gathered enough wildfoods for dinner in the evening, you will head back to the house for a snack ( to taste what you have picked). The evening’s dinner will feature the wildfoods picked that morning.

How to book
Terms and Conditions
A £100 per person deposit is required to secure your booking. Full payment is due 6 weeks prior to arrival. For breaks booked within 6 weeks, full payment is required at time of booking. Breaks are subject to availability and subject to change.
