Felting Courses with Ewa Kuniczak
With a lifetime of experience in Art and Design and over 40 years involved in Creative Textiles as a practising Artist and Teacher, Ewa is happy to use her skills to help others achieve their potential. In all these years she has never lost her enthusiasm and excitement at discovering new ideas and ways of finding problem solutions and encouraging others to gain in confidence in developing their ideas and mastering technical skills.
In more recent years Ewa has concentrated in developing and extending notions through a wide range of felting techniques, she is able to apply the breadth of her experience through principles of Art and Design to a wide range of textile disciplines. Ewa finds joy in versatility and flexibility and the thrill of seeing others thrive.

Inspired by Gartmore and its surroundings, discover the magic of capturing personal impressions of nature and translating them into felt compositions, using wet and dry felting techniques.
Sunday 8th – Friday 13th April 2018 – £499 per person (5 nights)
Discover the magic of colour through space-dyeing wool and silk prior to felting into sculptural forms, using ‘Shibori’ techniques –a unique way of creating colour transitions and unexpected combinations.
Gartmore in Felt

The architecture of Gartmore House, its woodlands and gardens are a source of tremendous potential for ideas that can be developed into your own creative projects. This is an excellent opportunity to explore these under expert guidance with photography and sketching in order to either complete a project or create a series of small scale pieces for future development.

Discover the fascinating possibilities for creating your own original hat and bag, using seamless felting methods that allow you to draw, paint and sculpt with your fibres for stunning effects!
Keepsake Fibre Books
Sunday 21st – Friday 26th October 2018 – £499 per person (5 nights)
A unique opportunity to create an original book that is a precious reminder of a special occasion, a memorable holiday, a favourite poem, or a significant person. Using felting techniques, it is possible to create pockets, flaps and folding pages, personalising further with apertures, writing and transfer printing of digital imagery – thus making it a true gem.
Friday 30th November – Sunday 2nd December 2018 – £289 per person (2 nights)
Explore the translucent qualities of handmade felt by creating interchangeable coverings for lamps, by incorporating flowers, leaves and grasses, or fabrics and fancy yarns to create silhouette effects against the light source – thus allowing you to co-ordinate your room colour schemes when you redecorate your interiors.

A £100 per person deposit is required to secure your booking. Full payment is due 6 weeks prior to arrival. For breaks booked within 6 weeks, full payment is required at time of booking. Breaks are subject to availability and subject to change.
